Saint Barnabas Medical Center is looking for a Senior Genetic Counselor to build our Oncology Genetic Program.
This program manager is responsible for the leadership, development and implementation of uniform clinic workflows and initiatives to ensure the Cancer Program performs at the highest standard of quality and consistency. Seeking a self-directed clinician to perform patient care in addition to the manager responsibilities, reports to Cancer Program Director.
Provides genetic counseling as a practitioner in cooperation with medical staff within the clinical departments. Works directly with the patient to provide assessment, counseling, follow-up, and referral to resources as necessary. Provides needed documentation for patient and physicians.
Provide direction and oversight in the creation and maintenance of uniform and consistent clinic activities, including patient flow tracking, staffing adjustments and meeting the needs of clinic providers.
Coordinate and facilitate patient flow between clinics and ancillary services within the department.
Provide direct supervision to genetic counselors and participate in performance appraisals. Maintain a cohesive, efficient team to ensure high quality patient care and delivery of services.
Utilize continuous quality improvement methods to improve clinical services to internal and external customers by identifying efficient ways to complete clinic tasks, recommending and implementing change, communicating clinic vision and assessing staffing needs.
Ensure administrative policies and procedures are compliant with COC, NAPBC and HIPPA regulations.
Receive and manage patient complaints.
Minimum Required Education: Master s degree in Genetic Counseling from a program accredited by Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC)
Minimum Required Experience: 5 years
