Summary of Job Function: The Resource Advisor serves as the Medical Center's primary contact for patient reimbursement issues in accordance with established collection policies. The Resource Advisor provides information regarding hospital payment requirements, customer service, alternative financing and financial assistance programs. Collect 20% of applicable volume based on self pays, Charity Care pending and Charity Care approvals 20-80% coverage. All communications are conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for services. Includes other duties as assigned and overtime as requested and/or required. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Job Qualifications: High School graduate, college degree or three years appropriate work experience that would indicate a high level of communication skills and organizational ability. Should be familiar with statutes and regulations that impact collection of past due accounts.
