DEPARTMENT: Workplace Design and Delivery (Facilities Planning)
WORK SCHEDULE: Days. Exempt from overtime.
WORK TYPE: Full-time
Develops the Medical Equipment listing and schedule for the Geisinger Health System construction projects. The position has intimate knowledge of all areas of equipment planning, including budgeting and equipment specification development, sourcing, purchasing and implementation, and equipment installation/relocation.
Strong project management skills are required, as well as the ability to interact comfortably and successfully with individuals at all levels within the organization. Strong understanding of operational and tactical plans as well as thorough knowledge of medical logistics support planning. Responsible for solving complex design construction and operation issues with an intense focus on clinical outcomes.
Performs duties in a manner that supports the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality, cost-effective patient care and patient satisfaction. Assures compliance with both system and department policies and procedures.
Reports directly to the Associate Vice President, Procurement Services.

Knowledge of medical facilities and the functions/procedures performed in facility spaces.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the function of medical equipment and medical terminology.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree with technical emphasis (architecture, engineering, biomedical, nursing) preferred. Minimum of 8 years hands on experience in Nursing, Biomedical/Clinical Engineering, Facilities Project Management or Medical Equipment Planning is required.
Familiarity with Attainia Database software is preferred. Previous experience with architectural design process is strongly desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed on project constructions sites and in an office environment.
