Administers and maintains the hospital health science library containing books, journals and audiovisual materials as well as bibliographic and electronic tools used by employees, staff, students and consumers. Provides comprehensive, dynamic, knowledge-based information services to support effective patient care, research, education and technical support for a number of web applications for staff and patient education.
Able to read, write and speak English. Masterï¿½s Degree in Library Science from a school accredited by the American Library association. Must know current library principles, theories, methods and techniques. Bachelorï¿½s degree in Education a plus.
Five yearsï¿½ experience providing electronic medical library service using such vendors as Ebsco, OVID, and PubMed for reference and DOCLINE and OCLC for interlibrary loan. Three years management experience (including supervision) in a health science library. Experience with networked library system.
Academy of Health Information Professional (AHIP) designation preferred.
