The Department of Pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (UH/RBC) is pleased to inform you of a national search to identify a transformational leader to serve in the role of Endowed Chair & Division Chief of General Academic Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
The Pediatrician-in-Chief and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an inspiring physician leader capable of establishing and implementing a vision that encompasses the mission values of UH/RBC: To Heal, To Teach, To Discover.
Located in Cleveland, OH, UH/RBC is a 244-bed renowned children’s hospital and a principal referral center for Ohio and the region. The Division is clinically housed in the UH Rainbow Center for Women & Children, a new 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art center that opened in July, 2018. Services include general pediatrics andadolescent medicine, outpatient pregnancy care and general OB/GYN. Additional key services available on site include pediatric dentistry, optometry, community services, childbirth and parenting classes, breastfeeding support, integrated mental/behavioral health services, nutrition education and classes, WIC and an ambulatory pharmacy. The Rainbow Center serves as the continuity clinic location for RBC’s 90+ pediatric residents.
Goals for the incoming Endowed Chair/Division Chief:
Advance the fields of General Academic Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine through patient care, practice innovation, research, education, community outreach and advocacy
Augment faculty/staff engagement and career advancement through recruitment, retention, personal leadership development, supporting structures and effective communication
Oversight and growth of Divisional research encompassing child health policy and health services issues, with growth of external grant portfolio and philanthropic support for research. Robust foundational support already in place includes multiple philanthropically supported implementation and evaluation efforts
Key strategic priorities include but are not limited to advocacy and health equity, resident education, general pediatric medicine, adolescent medicine, community support and research
Ideal candidates for the Endowed Chair/Chief and faculty roles will be fellowship trained in General Academic Pediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine.
