The Clinical Applications Specialist acts independently to provide specific training and clinical support related to the acquisition, implementation, and use of EpicCare Ambulatory module. The Clinical Applications Specialists apply specific advance level clinical and/or analytical knowledge and build expertise in completing the more complex assignments to meet customer goals and desired outcomes. Incumbent team members function as key liaisons for user contact and customer service on behalf of information services and are accountable for end-user satisfaction. Individuals in this job classification may also assist in the development of training materials and may participate as educators for end-users as related to specific information systems and services. Clinical Applications Specialists provide feedback and may make recommendations to management and project directors, ensuring that the organization’s goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by information technology. The Clinical Application Specialists work closely with the business to understand the short and long-term business plans, elicit requirements, work with leadership to identify and implement technology solutions to support plans.

Specific credentialing in application modules and/or technologies highly preferred (e.g. Epic).
Working knowledge of PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering/process improvement
techniques, healthcare information management, general information architectures and technology,
systems integration, laws, and regulations relevant to assigned applications.
Minimum of 4 years progressive nursing, pharmacy and/or exceptional clinical IT experience,
significant and successful clinical project management.
Knowledge of healthcare and evolving industry standards/challenges.
High energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, and/or licensed healthcare professional desirable
Epic Ambulatory Certification required
