About the Position
The UTMB Department of Dermatology seeks a Professor and Chair to lead this, the first Department of Dermatology in the state of Texas. This Department has a long history of excellence in patient care, in the training of residents and fellows as well as the training of medical school and allied health students. The Professor and Chair for this Department is responsible for the quality of the educational, scientific and clinical programs within the department. They are also responsible for the overall leadership and management of this highly diverse and respected department. This oversight includes the appropriate and optimal use of human, financial, space and other resources to successfully manage the clinical, research and educational missions of the department.
Required Education / Experience
MD or DO degree, eight to ten years of related experience, demonstrated familiarity with academic administration in a specialty field, demonstrative comprehensive understanding of a medical school/hospital environment, board certification in a specialty field and the ability to obtain a Texas state medical board license.
