Seeking A Talented Staff Physicians to Join the Section of Cardiology in Beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico
The New Mexico VA Health Care System and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM are actively recruiting to fill Board Certified Staff physician in Interventional Cardiology (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. Selected candidate must qualify for a faculty appointment at UNM, Albuquerque, & be involved with teaching of Cardiology fellows in our accredited fellowship program along with medical students, medicine residents & other learners and providers. The selected candidate will report to the Chief, Section of Cardiology. Two state-of-the art cardiac catheterization suites are available. The New Mexico VA Healthcare System (NMVAHCS), located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is part of VA Desert Pacific Network (VISN22), comprised of eight health care system and 65 community clinics serving 1.5 million veterans in Arizona, New Mexico and Southern California which includes facilities in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. As a faculty member, scholarly and educational activities will be strongly supported.
You are invited to consider joining the team of the Albuquerque VA Medical Center and University of New Mexico School of Medicine, providing care for the world’s best patients while providing training and mentorship for fellows, residents, and students. You should be board certified/eligible in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology and a US citizen with current US licensure (any state) with no history of revocations or suspension. Permanent Residents may be considered if no US citizen is selected.
As a care giver and clinician educator, you should have outstanding interventional cardiology skills combined with a passion for teaching and scholarship. Previous post-training academic experience and a history of publication in peer-reviewed cardiology journals is preferred. This position includes both inpatient and outpatient activity and the opportunity to teach learners at all levels (students, residents, and fellows). You will spend most of your time in direct patient care and the supervision of medical residents and cardiology fellows in inpatient/outpatient settings and the Cath lab. At least two to five years of experience is preferred.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
Must be U.S. Citizen – Non-US Citizens may be considered
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certification in Gastroenterology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Board certification in Internal Medicine is also preferred.
