Under general supervision, coordinates various administrative functions and assigned clerical staff in Department of Cardiac and Vascular Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination of technical and clerical staff, monitoring work flow and staff schedules, ensuring that work is performed according to established guidelines and within acceptable time frames, processing reports and forms, etc. Assists subordinate staff with complex and/or sensitive work; explains/trains and acts as a resource person for clerical staff throughout the hospital as requested. Provides input into policy development from a professional, technical or procedural perspective. As directed, provides input into procedure/protocol development, ensures compliance and provides interpretation of procedural intent. Provides input on performance appraisals and personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Provides input in the development of goals and measures for area of responsibility. Assists in the development of and monitors the budget for assigned Cardiac and Vascular areas; orders and maintains appropriate levels of inventory for assigned areas. Provides various related administrative responsibilities, as assigned, including transcribing, preparing correspondence, answering telephone inquiries, greeting visitors, preparing orientation packages, maintaining files and other related duties. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. 1.One to two years college level coursework in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate's degree preferred. 2.
