Section Chief, Hospital Medicine, Medical College of Wisconsin
The System Chief of Hospital Medicine will lead the Hospitalist Program across Froedtert Health’s multiple hospital entities, will serve as the Senior Medical Director for Froedtert Hospital’s Inpatient Platform, and will lead the Section of Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW).
The system chief works in relationship with several operational leaders across the enterprise to lead targeted operational strategies that optimize patient-centered care over the entire continuum. He/she will oversee and is responsible for hospitalist program performance, integration and growth, and ensures the program provides highly coordinated, cost-effective clinical services deployed throughout the system.
As Section Chief, he/she will work collaboratively with academic partners to strengthen the research and education missions across the Froedtert System. The Section Chief, reports directly to the Division Chief, General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, MCW and is the leader of a growing group of academic hospitalists, currently numbering more than 50, who are intimately involved with the clinical, education and research missions of the academic medical center
The System Chief of Hospital Medicine will be a clinical hospitalist of the highest level of accomplishment. He/she should have prior leadership experience in a nationally recognized hospital medicine program. The Chief must be able to work in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment, possess strong leadership, organizational skills and demonstrated strategic and implementation skills. He/she must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a large, complex health system. The System Chief must have demonstrated strong connections within their respective local, state and national associations.
