Job Summary :
This position be working in close collaboration with the VUMC Community Health Assessment (CHNA) team to help ensure that VUMC is compliant with the 990 IRS requirements for non-profit hospitals related to development of community health needs assessments and implementation plans. This position coordinates activities to assist with planning the needs assessment, coordinating primary data collection, accessing and updating secondary data, coordinating meetings to obtain internal and external feedback, writing assigned sections of reports and monitoring of the implementation strategy. The position works with community partners in counties served on community health improvement projects and supports grant-related efforts. Internally the position supports advisory committees and working groups and helps align efforts.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
· Collect and manage primary and secondary data. Create and update charts, graphs and tables for reports and presentations. Pull data as requested from secondary data sources. Utilize REDCap, Excel and other databases/data systems. Present data in user-friendly format.
· Coordinate internal and external meetings with community partners. Plan agendas, take notes, prepare meeting materials and provide timely minutes and follow-up.
· Manage community health improvement projects such as the community behavioral health team meetings.
· Represent the Community Health Improvement Team on community coalitions and collaboratives.
· Manage Internal Review Board requirements, including amendments and continuing reviews.
· Coordinate reporting with VUMC Finance and help write CHNA, interim reports and implementation strategies. Manage database of implementation strategy programs. Coordinate database updates and data collection efforts.
· Support on-going monitoring and evaluation of VUMC's Implementation Strategy including data collection and ensuring alignment with priorities selected.
· Update and maintain VUMC's CHNA/IS website and assist with efforts to market the website to internal and external stakeholders.
· Understand community benefit requirements for non-profit hospitals. Collaborate with finance on community benefit reporting.
· Help maintain relationships with local public health departments, collaborating health systems, community organizations and other agencies. Travel to counties to engage partners. Support and implement other strategies for support of community partners.
· Maintain on-going communication and seek assistance as needed. · Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two year experience in related activities. Candidates with master's degree in public health, business, liberal arts discipline, or related field are preferred.
Preferred skills and experiences:
· Two years of work experience in a health care setting, research setting or a non-profit agency.
· Experience working on community health improvement/public health initiatives.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Knowledge of software for managing data such as Excel
· Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced work
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information :
This is a full-time position, non-exempt position.
Some local and in-state travel is required for the position. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
