The Division of Neonatal Medicine at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and Case Western Reserve University is seeking a mid-career or senior physician with a proven track record of excellence in patient care and a focus on either program development or research that compliments existing strengths. The successful candidate will continue the legacies of Avroy Fanaroff MD and Maureen Hack MD as outstanding clinicians, ground breaking researchers and renowned mentors. The ideal clinician educator candidate will build on existing divisional strengths in translational research and outcomes assessment while moving the program forward in new arenas. Candidates with experience in family centered care, ECMO training, and exposure to a Fetal care center are especially encouraged to apply. Opportunities to pursue quality improvement projects are available. Research candidates with strengths in active areas of basic research in the division including neurobiology of breathing, mechanisms of intermittent hypoxia and airway reactivity are also encouraged to apply.
An MD degree, completion of fellowship training in Neonatal Medicine, and board certification are required. Faculty rank will be at the Associate or Professor level commensurate with experience and achievement. Qualified candidate will be eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine at a level commiserate with their experience.
Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care center located in Cleveland Ohio. The Division currently includes 23 full time board certified Neonatologists providing clinical care in an award winning 87 bed state of the art NICU opened in 2009. Clinical programs support pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, inhaled nitric oxide and ECMO, and a nationally renowned longitudinal outcomes program. The Division also has an ACGME-approved fellowship program funded by a T32 training grant led by Dr. Richard Martin and Dr. Michele Walsh.
