The position is in the Division of Molecular Pathogenesis, within the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The Division of Molecular Pathogenesis is the the basic science home of the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology and encompasses research spanning microbiology, immunology, inflammation, cancer biology, and vascular biology.
The Successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, ability to manage large events, support multiple faculty, and promote team building in support of a large department.
Oversees the creation, coordination and execution symposiums, research retreats, and seminars
Provides budgetary management for research events
Provides training and guidance for individuals supporting the division and department initiatives
Promotes outreach and collaborative efforts between other divisions and departments
Manages direct and indirect reports for faculty support, education/course support, website and newsletters
Additional duties may be assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
A minimum of 3 years of experience in providing high level support to multiple faculty and/or managing multiple projects and planning retreats/symposiums is preferred
Prior experience with Vanderbilt policies, procedures, and internal systems such as BI launch pad, Concur, DMS and eDog is preferred
Experience with the following is preferred: Drupal, Google Calendar, MyEmma, Photoshop, Publisher, and Sitebuilder
Prior advanced knowledge of Word, Powerpoint, and Excel Spreadsheets.
