The Bath, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located in the scenic Finger Lakes Region, is recruiting a full-time Chief of Medicine. You will serve as a key leader in the design, development, implementation and review of clinical care within the medical center. We are a secondary care medical care center, affiliated with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and numerous other schools of nursing and health care. Our 440 bed facility provides care in acute medicine, psychiatry, intermediate medicine, and extended care. The Medical Center boasts a number of innovative programs and initiatives that are considered to be best practices. The Bath VA Medical Center is also the parent facility for two Community Based Outpatient Clinics and two Outpatient Clinics. Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans may be available! Will consider board certified candidates from several medical subspecialties.
Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans available (up to $120,000).
Provide direct patient care as needed in outpatient, inpatient and urgent care settings as needed, utilizing face to face visits and telemedicine.
Interpret the needs of the Network and institution, develop participation in problem solving, obtains buy-in, and optimize the practice of care.
Serve as the contact for affiliates and maintain responsibility for developing and maintaining partnership in education and research.
Take an active role as a member of the Local Leadership Council, serving as a resource and an impartial participant.
Serve as a Veteran advocate for quality of medical care, patient rights, and confidentiality. When necessary, recommend appropriate programmatic changes and responses to issues of patient complaints.
Ensure the Medical Staff maintains the appropriate competency levels by promoting educational programs.
Responsible for medical staff in the following levels of care:
Primary Ambulatory Care
Specialty Care (Chiro, Pain, Eye, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardio, Podiatry)
Urgent Care Clinic
Compensation and Pension
Annual performance bonus up to an additional 7.5% of pay

Licensure: 1 Full and unrestricted license from any US State is permissible to work at this facility
CME: $1,000 per year stipend for reimbursement
Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage provided

Additional Salary Information: Eligible for performance pay up to $15,000 each year and tenure salary increases occur every 2 years.
