In this role, the Chief Administrative Office is responsible for the operational and financial performance of assigned communities; development of an effective operational referral network and surrounding counties and areas in support of the Hospital Services critical access objectives and ensure safe evidenced based, compassionate care for patients. Responsible for planning/directing and the delivery of services consistent with PeaceHealth’s strategic plans, providing leadership for the development of healthcare services, promoting physician and community relationships and promoting management/employee behaviors that contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of PeaceHealth. Ensure that clinical support services are coordinated across staff, functions, and activities to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.

Governance/Sponsorship Responsibility for operational referral network development. Developing relationships with facilities and providers in local community and the Hospital Services for the purposes of potential collaboration and/or shared services.
Vision/Strategic Direction Providing strategic leadership which results in a dynamic organization that is responsive to the needs of the community in a manner consistent with the Mission and Values of PeaceHealth.
Operations Strategies and Execution Will engage in proactive development, communication and maintenance of strategic direction and long range plans (human resources, capital resources, financial, etc.), which are designed to meet the needs of the population in an affordable and quality manner.
Resource Stewardship Ensures long-term financial and operational stability by implementing effective systems and providing management oversight. Participates with Network Leadership in developing Long Range Financial Plans (LRFP) and annual operating budgets and is accountable for outcome performance.
Advocacy/Representation Encourages the integration of the referral network and hospital with the community through effective communication and public relations programs.
Must have a combination of leadership, human, business, political, facilitative and decision-making abilities, industry knowledge, and a customer service orientation.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
MHA, MBA or MS in healthcare administration is required; or a combination of education and professional experience
Minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible and successful leadership experience in a healthcare system required. CEO, COO, CAO, CFO experience preferred.
Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) is preferred.
