Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with Corporate, Facility, Marketing and Clinical Teams within Nexus Health Systems.
Coordinates the development and monitoring of the physical medicine and rehabilitative aspects of the interdisciplinary treatment plans when consulted, including discharge planning.
Educates internal staff members about the physical medicine and rehabilitation interventions and uses effective communication strategies for caring for patients.
Participates in and/or coordinates weekly (at minimum) team conferences for patients with PM&R consults with interdisciplinary care team.
Provides rehabilitative evaluation and management with proper documentation and planning to address physical, medical, and cognitive components of conditions that may affect therapeutic successes and functional outcomes.
Provides education to families as appropriate in regard to the patient's condition.
Communicates with the attending physician and administration, as appropriate, regarding treatment planning, physical medicine and rehabilitative programming, clinical coordination, goals, objectives, areas of clinical or operational concern, and services successfully implemented.
Presents self in a professional manner when representing the facility.
In conjunction with Outcome Manager, leads interdisciplinary team in establishing outcome measurements for the Brain Injury Program as well as monitors treatment fidelity and outcomes for the program.
Stays current with latest research and practices in the treatment and care of patients as it applies to the role of the physiatrist.
Attends conferences/workshops as appropriate to maintain a professional network of resources and knowledge.
Provides supervision to rehabilitative therapists on the treatment team as necessary to monitor the implementation of physical medicine and rehabilitative aspects of the interdisciplinary treatment plans.
Participates in on-going program development meetings to assess the efficacy of current programs and makes recommendations for treatment fidelity as necessary.
Demonstrates respect of patient privacy on a consistent basis.
Consults with appropriate department heads in order to review and initiate organization-wide policies and procedures needed to accomplish hospitals goals, objectives and programs.
