The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a child neurologist with clinical neurophysiology training at the rank of Associate (non track), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (tenure or non-tenure/clinical track). The individual selected will join the Division of Neurology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services. In addition, this individual will read EEGs and video EEGs in rotation with other faculty.

Requirements: Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent Board certified or eligible in Neurology with Special Competence in Child Neurology or equivalent Board certified or eligible in Clinical Neurophysiology License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa

Desirable qualifications: Clinical experience in pediatric neurology Experience and training in reading pediatric routine and video EEGs Experience in patient-oriented research Teaching competence in child neurology for medical students and residents Evidence of scholarly activity Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2016-17 University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital ranked in eight pediatric specialties in the Best Children’s Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children’s care. A new 189-bed children’s hospital opened in February 2017.
