ICHC is a small mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience managing an outpatient family medicine clinic or FQHC. Our small setting requires managers and leaders who "roll up their sleeves" as we are all working managers. If you are used to delegating and overseeing, that experience is inconsistent with the needs of our organization.
Leadership position responsible for the day to day oversight of clinic’s operations.
Oversees and manages day to day clinical operations to include medical, dental and integrated behavioral health programs oversight of customer service, telephones, scheduling, health records and patient flow.
Supervises Clinic Support Supervisor, Patient Services Supervisor and Dental Program Coordinator. Orients, supervises, trains, coaches and evaluates employees.
Monitors operations using established primary care business metrics. Prepares and distributes monthly operation and managerial reports.
Develops and implements marketing and public relations strategy consistent with mission of ICHC.
Oversees building, grounds and furniture, fixtures and equipment, security, maintenance, repair processes; orients, supervises, monitors, evaluates and reports on contractor performance.
Serves as Corporate Compliance Officer for clinical operations, including HIPAA, HITECH, OSHA, Fire and Life Safety policies and procedures, orients and trains staff, volunteers, contractors and other appropriate third parties regarding policy and procedures; monitors and reports on adherence to policy and procedures; and conducts periodic risk assessments.
Serves as after-hours on-call contact for building.
Use community needs assessment to promote ICHC’s services.
Remains current with standards of primary health care practice.
Networks in community and attends meetings in order to promote ICHC’s business interests.
Complies with center’s policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated professional experience in outpatient health care operations/leadership.
Proficient in computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Demonstrated experience interacting with healthcare providers.
Position is based in the City of Fairbanks; however, position responsibilities may require travel both within the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) and Denali Borough. Use of personal vehicle is required for travel; therefore, a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and registration is required. Position may require working occasional evenings and weekends.

Immediate Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management position, two of which must be in primary care operations plus two years experience supervising staff. Experience in working with medically underserved populations and cultural competency.
Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, or related field required; Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Organizational Development or Management or related field preferred.
